Born 1960 in Rome, qualified at the Technicum Horticole de Lullier in Geneva Switzerland. Since 1990 Niccolò Grassi works as a landscape gardener for prestigious clients both in Italy and abroad. Villas inthe region of Venice and Friuli; in Tuscany, Fiesole, Forte dei Marmi, Cetona, Orvieto, the Argentario coast and Maremma as well as Ischia, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Porto Cervo; projects for gardens in Modena and Reggio Emilia,several terraces in Milan, Rome, Florence and the garden of the restaurant "Caffè Arti & Mestieri" in Reggio Emilia.


Currently he is working for the Emilio Pucci Foundation .on a large, landscape project for the re-qualification of parkland in the Granaiolo estate near Florence. For many years Max Mara commission the planning of their open spaces in prestigious boutiques: the terrace and courtyard of their concept store in Corso Vittorio Emanuele Milan, the vertical garden in Avenue Montaigne Paris, a courtyard transformed into greenhouse in Reggio Emilia, in addition to the stores of Mestre, Lisbon and Antwerp in Belgium. For Royal Botania, one of the leader companies of outdoor furniture, he designs the booth at “Salone del Mobile” the Milan international furniture fair.

 

In the hotel context he collaborates with luxury chains in Florence and Turin for the creation of new gardens or the redevelopment of open spaces: the J. K. Place in Capri; the San Clemente Palace in Venice; the Residenza del Moro in Florence.

 

For the hotel chain Lungarno Collection he created the roof-garden of the Portrait Suites in Rome, in addition to the terraces of Hotel Lungarno and the Gallery Art Hotel in Florence. All these are properties of the Ferragamo family who also commissioned the project of the open space and furnishings for the apartments of the Marina di Scarlino, in the Maremma.

 

In the Interior Design field, different apartments in Milan and Florence in addition to country homes in Tuscany and on the island of Ischia. Currently working on a radical restructuring and new interior decoration of the Hotel Kaerntnerhof, situated in the historical centre of Vienna.

 

All the projects mentioned have been completed and some of them also photographed and published in addition to various interviews, in foreign and Italian press. AD Italy, Marie Claire Maison, Elle Decoration, Vogue Shops Guide, Gardens Illustrated, Ville Giardini, Gardenia, Ville & Casali, Schoener Wohen, Votre Maison, Living at Home, are some of the magazines where photographic services have been published about Niccolò Grassi’s work.

For many years he has worked as a journalist and photographer for publishing houses and gardens in Italy and abroad and many magazines in the sector.
